DC-300 machine.

Lets say you have already have 3.5 and 4.0 in your
computer.

The CD Library! Freeware (Able to control DC-101 and
DC-300)
by JCITS Systems, LLC
Important!! Database is not compatible with 3.5 and 4.0

Please be aware:
DC-101 and DC-300 are standard USB devices,
You do NOT need to install any drivers.
Once CD Library hardware is connected to a computer,
Device Manager automatically shows
USB Human Interface Device and HID-complaint
device

If you are getting this warning window,
CD Library 4.0 is not able to find any machine,
You might need to check Device Manager,
And see if there is any yellow or red mark on it.

Suggestion:
1. Try to plug the USB cable into other USB sockets in the computer and see if you can find them both in Device Manager. You might want to try other computer and see if you can find them as well.

2. Try to add an external USB HUB between computer and CD Library then find Human Interface Device and HID-complaint device (Don't buy it first, just borrow a HUB to try.) Computer -> External USB HUB -> CD Library (-> means connect.)

3. Also if you are using longer USB cable, computer might not be able to see the machine as well. Please check it.

Concept What is CD Library

CD Library is an electrical equipment for people who have
lots of CDs, normally you might want to use CD cases,or
CD wallets, you surely can store hundreds of CDs in it, but
you cant get a CD in just one second. You have to flip
pages and pages to find the CD, even if you need to find
a specific file in a CD, you need to insert every CD into your
drive, and just looking for a single file. It may be MP3, JPG,

or MOV, anyway, its really hard to find a CD you wish to
have. With CD Library software and hardware, you do find a

CD in just one second, BUT, you need to build a database
first.

As you can see on the first page, CD Library DC-101 and
CD Library II DC-300 are the hardware. A USB cable
connects between CD Library hardware and PC computer.
Software is included in the product package.

CD Library 3.5 supports Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP Pro &
#Home edition,
However, due to old software technology, CD Library 3.5
does not support
Windows XP x64 edition, and Windows Vista (32bit and
64bit), so we have
Developed CD Library 4.0 to support them.

Current CD Library 3.5 might not be able to support Vista
32bit.
And it gives you the error message: "your data base may
be occupied. Restore previous save"

However, there is a solution for this situation:
Please try the following:
If your Vista is 32bit,
Right click on CD Library 3.5 icon on the desktop, and select
Properties,
Choose following 2 items in Compatibility tab and CD
Library 3.5 is able to run in Vista 32bit.

Regarding to backup database for CD Library 3.5:

There are database folders and files build in
C:\Program Files\CD Library
These are database folders.
8 folders: dbf, dbfbak, CdInfo, CdInfbak, Remark,
Remakbak, Preview, DBFEmpty 2 files: dbid.txt,
Cdtype.txt

PS. If you uninstall CD Library 3.5, above database folders
and files will be left in the directory.

You can copy them to other drives or directories for backup,
once you need to format
HD, OR you need to use the same database in other
computers, you just install CD Library
software first, and then copy 8 folders and 2 files to the
same directory
(C:\Program Files\CD Library), open software, and you no
need to re-type again.
If you uninstall software, and then delete CD Library folder,
old database will be gone,
and then you install software again, open it, you will see no
database there,
You then can copy 8 folders and 2 files back, old database
will appear again.
You also are able to move the database from old computer
to new computer.

system,
Vista does not allow CD Library 4.0 to backup database to
root C:\ or others in C:\Windows
Except for C:\Program Files\CDLIB
(unless you use administrator right, you can backup
database to anywhere.)
So it is strongly recommend that your backup destination

How to run CD Library 4.0 as Administrator right?
Right click CD Library 4.0 icon on the desktop, and select

Import database *.DB (3.5 format)

For Vista 64bit and XP 64bit users:
Since CD Library 3.5 does not support 64bit OS, the 3.5
format database cannot run in it as well. So importing
Database .DB is not possible, and we disabled this feature
as well. You CANNOT find Import .DB in 64bit.

Please find a 32bit computer to import .DB, and then
backup to .MDB. Or you can have 8 folders and 2 files
ready and ask Technical Support to transfer it to .MDB for
you.

For all 32bit users:
CD Library 3.5 and 4.0 are different software,
You can open 3.5 and 4.0 in the same computer, both of
them are able to control DC-300 machine.

But 4.0 can import 3.5 database,
Lets say you have 3.5 and 4.0 installed in your computer.

So,
3.5 is installed in C:\Program Files\CD Library (you can
find 8 folders and 2 files here)
4.0 is installed in C:\Program Files\CDLIB
Then you can open 4.0 and then go to File-> Restore
Database -> Import *.DB
A small window comes up, you need to find cdlib.db in dbf
folder in C:\Program Files\CD Library\dbf

4.0 will grab 8 folders and 2 files database and then make
it to CDLIB.MDB in C:\Program Files\CDLIB

How to import database .DB?
Before you are able to import database *.DB, you need to
4 have
8 folders and 2 files ready in your computer.
Single file CDLIB.DB is
not enough to do so.

In the CD Library 4.0, go to File -> Restore Database ->
Import *.DB

A small window comes up, you need to find CDLIB.DB file
in DB folder,
Once again, single CDLIB.DB is not enough to do restore
database,
So please have 8 folders and 2 files ready.

After that, backup database to CDLIB.MDB is
recommended.

Import database *.MDB

Before you are able to import database *.MDB, you need
to have
CDLIB.MDB ready in your computer.

PS. If you have ever used CD Library 4.0, CDLIB.MDB will
be created in
C:\Program Files\CDLIB, backup destination to D drive is
strongly recommended.

In the CD Library 4.0, go to File -> Restore Database ->
Import *.MDB

A small window comes up, please find the folder that
contains CDLIB.MDB
Maybe you have a better place to save the file, so please
go and find it.
(EX. D:\CDLIB.MDB)

Differences between .DB and .MDB

Lets say, I have XP computer and 3.5 is installed, also
I've entered much data in it, so I can find 8 folders and 2
files in
C:\Program Files\CD Library, then I know that there is a
new version of software 4.0, and I wish to use 4.0 with my
old database
from 3.5, I dont want to type CD information again,

I install 4.0 and when I open 4.0, there is nothing in it,
and I go to File -> Restore Database -> Import .DB
(small window comes up)
Then in the small window, I go to
C:\Program Files\CD Library\DBF, and I can find cdlib.db,
press OK, old database is imported in 4.0

Now, I can backup current database to CDLIB.MDB
(new format database for 4.0), so I go to
File -> Backup Database (small window comes up)
I choose the root of D drive D:\

Then a file called CDLIB.MDB is generated in D:\

This CDLIB.MDB has exactly same data like 8 folders
and 2 files, so I can throw (delete) my 8 folders and 2
files away, I dont want to use it,
And I dont need to use it any more.

Then I keep adding more data in 4.0, and I still can use
backup database anytime (File -> Backup Database)
and then select D:\
The new CDLIB.MDB is generated again,
this time the CDLIB.MDB is new database.

One day, I buy a new Vista computer, I want to move my
database to the new computer,
So I copy D:\CDLIB.MDB from my old XP computer to new
Vista computer (same in D:\CDLIB.MDB), and then I start
to install CD Library 4.0 in the new Vista,

I open CD Library 4.0 in new Vista computer, there is no
data, of course.

Then I choose File -> Restore Database -> Import .MDB
A small window comes up, so I go to D:\ to find CDLIB.MDB,
click OK, then I can see my previous database again in
new Vista computer and use it.
Then you can still add more data and then backup
database to D:\CDLIB.MDB
